SUMMARY:Program “It’s Revolutionary: Stories\, Songs\, and Games from the Revolutionary War"
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Washington County Historical Society and the Hebron Preservation Society will co-host “It’s Revolutionary: Stories\, Songs\, and Games from the Revolutionary War”\, a program for children on Sunday\, June 14 (Flag Day)\, 2026 at 2 p.m. The presentation will be given by sisters Debi Craig and Dorothea Casey. \nLearn about the Boston Tea Party\, Ben Franklin’s invention: the glass harmonica\, Henry Knox’s Trail which came right through Washington County en route to Boston in 1775\, as well as stories of some of the important women in the Revolutionary War. Children will learn songs about the Battle of Bennington and Revolutionary Tea\, as well as colonial children’s games. \nBoth presenters are retired music teachers. In their retirement\, the sisters started a Story Time in Hebron where they grew up. It meets on Saturday morning once a month providing children with opportunities to incorporate music\, puppets\, and movement with children’s literature. They had always wanted to do a puppetry program together and in 2022\, the two started an after-school Puppet Club for children. They have performed “The Three Little Pigs”\, “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”\, and “The Nutcracker”. \nThe program will be held at the former East Hebron Presbyterian Church at 6559 State Route 22 in the settlement of East Hebron (7 miles north of Salem\, 10 miles south of Granville) \nThe program will last approximately an hour. A parent must stay with the children. There is no charge for this event. Donations are gladly accepted. All are welcome!
