Fort George Historic Marker Dedication Ceremony

The Washington County Historical Society invites the public to the unveiling of the newest educational marker at the Lake George Battlefield Park. The marker will be located at the entrance.
This year marks the 243rd Anniversary of British Major Christoper Carleton’s destruction of Fort George and a raid that shaped our landscape. In commemoration of this historic event this marker will be the newest educational addition to the Lake George Battlefield Park.
