Preservation in Progress- A Guided Tour of Salem, NY Sites

Have you ever wondered what goes into maintaining and restoring a historic building? Would you like to learn more about the process from those in the know?

If yes, then you won’t want to miss this Washington County Historical Society program!

On this guided three-hour tour, you will gain special access to the New Collar Goods (a former shirt factory), Salem Courthouse, and the Salem Episcopal Church and learn about the challenges, goals, and funding involved in undertaking a restoration. Here you will get a first-hand look at the unique building elements at each site and learn the best practices for repair.

The tour will be led by WCHS Vice President and architectural historian Susan Lynch in conjunction with representatives from each site.

Fee is $20 per person with all funds going to support the mission of the Washington County Historical Society.
